A Sound Sleep
Guided Meditations with Relaxing Music & Nature Sounds
By Dudley and Dean Evenson
Husband-and-wife team Dean and Dudley Evenson address the needs of two types of stressed-out insomniacs with this album — those who have difficulty falling asleep, and those who may have no difficulty falling asleep at first but find themselves waking up many times during the night. Both of these problems can make it impossible to derive the health benefi ts of a night of deep, restful, uninterrupted sleep.
On track 1 (30 minutes), a guided meditation in Dudley Evenson’s calm and soothing voice, accompanied by gentle music and the sounds of rain and ocean waves, leads you to let go of worrisome thoughts and enter into a state of deep relaxation that allows you to easily fall asleep. The subliminal earth resonance frequency (ERF) alpha, theta, and delta waves programmed into the track entrain the brain to the slower frequencies that characterize deeper stages of sleep. On track 2 (31:22), only the music and sounds of nature are audible, while the guided meditations and brain-wave entrainment frequencies are subliminal. The entire album can be set to repeat all night long.
The Evensons have been producing award-winning relaxation and meditation instrumental music combined with nature sounds for more than 30 years, and this album, with Dean on silver and alto fl utes, keyboards, and nature sounds, and Dudley offering the guided meditation and the sounds of the harp and hand harp, is surely one of their fi nest. Helpful suggestions that will help listeners fall asleep and remain asleep throughout the night are off ered on the inside of the album cover.
Since this album is intended to cause drowsiness, it must not be played while driving or doing other activities that require alertness.
