Being an offspring of the East and West, a child of science and spirituality, and having led a life of challenges, both physical and spiritual, Richard Omura has used his life experiences to gain insights and to make as whole the challenges of living in a society where duality is the accepted norm. In writing his books on spirituality, he realized that personal spiritual development must come from a place of inner awareness. One cannot truly evolve spiritually by just memorizing and learning by rote, one must become aware of the inner self and think and act with self-understanding and mindful intent. The concepts and ideas that he writes about are not mainstream and is not pop spirituality. He challenges the status quo of scientific and spiritual thought and goes beyond the normally accepted ideas of reality. In so doing, he bases his explanations on personal awareness that are commonly experienced and harmonizes spiritual reality and material reality to get a better understanding of our lives.
