A Spell to Stop Worrying
Spells are only as powerful as the intentions and emotions they raise inside you.
Whether you call it praying, visualizing, dreaming, or spell casting, the words we speak act as an affirmation to the Universe. Once you send a message through your thoughts or actions, the Universal forces are set into motion. Spells are only as powerful as the intentions and emotions they raise inside you.
Remember that spells are not a panacea for every problem. They are cast to clear the way for dreams to come true by removing self- imposing obstacles and changing your perspective.
Once you truly understand you are one with nature and Spirit wants nothing more than your highest good, you will begin to recognize the magick and see the energy flowing toward you. Because we are so powerful, we must be very careful when we direct our intent or focus on anything.
Before you cast a spell, remember the Threefold Law (“Whatever you do will be returned to you three times three times three”), and ask yourself these four very important questions:
Is it necessary?
Have you tried everything in your power to make this dream come true? You need to make the first attempt.
Is it what I really need?
You may find yourself fixated on a specific image or set of qualifications for your desire. This mindset sets you up for potential disappointment if your dream comes true, but not in the exact shape or appearance of your wish. Ending spells, prayers, or affirmations by saying, “This or something better,” is a great idea to remain open to the possibilities.
Will it harm anyone, including myself?
You must be ethical and Harm None, the basic tenant of Witch-craft. Harm is different than hurt. Sometimes it is necessary to experience hurt before a need can be met.
Am I willing to own the responsibilities of the results?
Once you have asked the forces of the Universe to shake, rattle, and roll so you can achieve your wish, you must accept the form Spirit has decided will best fit your need. Remember, in Spirit anything is possible, including those things we cannot conceive.
Worrying is like paying interest on a debt you may not owe. Thought precedes action. When you weigh yourself down with worrisome, debilitating thoughts, it is as if you entered a quagmire. It will not matter how much you struggle to get through; as long as you worry, you will keep sinking deeper. Write down everything that you are worried about and place it in a special box.
On the night of the full moon, turn on meditative music. Sit comfortably, light a white candle, and place it directly in front of you. Drop three drops of vanilla onto the candle.
Listen to the following visual meditation:
Slowly bring your awareness back to the present by scrunching your toes while still holding the image of yourself embraced by the white light. Watch the white light move through your toes into the earth, flexible enough to travel wherever you go. Allow yourself to feel each part of your body as you come back to the present moment. You are still surrounded by white, cleansing light. Dab vanilla oil behind each ear. On the next full moon, open the box and see how your worries have worked themselves out.
