A Self-Test to Find Your Spiritual Type

Grab a pencil and paper to take this self-test, which appeared in the Summer 2000 issue of Spirituality & Health. Before you venture far to experience other communities in the swamp of faith, it helps to have a strong sense of where you're coming from. And often where you are right now is not so much a matter of what you believe but how you believe. Is the source of your spiritual understanding in your head or in your heart? Are you propelled primarily by faith or doubt? Perhaps more importantly, it helps to have a better sense of how others believe — and to keep in mind that two people practicing the same ritual or reciting the same creed may be worlds apart.
